Fact vs Opinion

Just because you believe it, doesn’t make it a fact. The converse is true: not believing something, doesn’t automatically make it an opinion.

A fact is something that is true, regardless of whether you believe it or not. For example, people that don’t believe in gravity will still fall if they jump of a building.

No matter how much you disagree, facts still remain facts.

Everyone has, and is entitled to their opinion. That doesn’t mean you should voice yours to everyone you meet or believe someone else’s opinion just because they want you to.

Opinion is something you believe to be true, but might not be true for everyone. For example, some people have the opinion that pizza tastes best when dipped in ranch salad dressing. They’re wrong, but completely entitled to their opinion. LOL.

This is why it is extremely important to know where you stand on certain subjects.

The only true fact with eternal consequences is believing and accepting that Jesus is God, He’s the only way to the Father, and salvation is only found through Him. The reason it’s fact is that Jesus said so. He was either crazy, a liar, or who He said He is.

People can be upset about it, or strongly disagree. However, just like gravity, I personally wouldn’t chance not believing it to be true. Nor is it necessary to argue about it with someone who chooses not to believe.

When presented with a statement that might be fact or opinion, do your research, qualify the sources, and then make a decision of where to place it.

Not everyone thinks the same. That’s one thing that makes a community of people from different backgrounds terrific and interesting. It would be totally boring if everyone person had the exact same opinion.

So, be gracious when someone makes a statement that you don’t agree with. You might end up being the person who’s opinion is actually not fact.
