Trying to be something you’re not takes too much effort.
However, staying true to who you are doesn’t mean you can be a jerk to everyone and expect people to “accept you for who you are”. You can be genuine as well as professional. You can keep it real and keep it respectful at the same time.
If you have to “prove” that you’re so much of a whatever you want people to think you are, maybe you actually aren’t. So, why bother?
People are going to think what they want to think. So, again…why bother?
